Mannin Bay, south-west of Connemara in County Galway.
Driving north on R341 in the distance we see a white sandy beach and decide to have a walk. So, just ahead, we go along a track where you can see some houses here and there. The street ends, we leave the car and walk to the beach.
The view is dreamlike: white beaches, crystal clear water, the blue sky with extraordinary clouds. A sailboat on the sand waiting for the tide to redo the rocking on the waves.
We meet a group of people with horses. Two girls in the group, riding without a saddle, head to the sea until the water reaches the necks of the animals. It's a group of Americans led by an old and nice Irishman who approaches us and asks us where we come from, we shake hands and say goodbye.
We're almost speechless, the scenery is stunning, the Atlantic lawns give way to the white sand of the beach.
We sit down and enjoy the peace.
